Teach your students about the Pilgrim’s Journey to the New World, the First Thanksgiving, and holiday traditions past and present. and with these interactive and noprep digital activities. Students will work directly in Google Slides™ to complete the paperless activities. Share with your class using Google Classroom™, Google Slides™.

Students will read seven nonfiction passages. After each passage is a slide with questions for students to answer about the text. There are also graphic organizers and other review activities. Most of the slides have movable pieces so students can interact with the slides in some way.

What is included:

• Slides 1-14: nonfiction reading passages about the first Thanksgiving. After each passage is a slide asking students to respond to what they read. They will need to insert a text box for most of the questions. Topics of each slide:
  • The Pilgrims
  • The Mayflower Voyage
  • Their New Home
  • The Wampanoag Tribe
  • The First Thanksgiving
  • Thanksgiving Past and Present
  • Thanksgiving Today

• Slide 16: Students write 2 facts they learned from the passages and 1 opinion they have.
• Slides 17 & 18: Students will choose a writing prompt and write about it.
• Slide 19: Author’s purpose activity. Students will read 3 Thanksgiving themed passages and decide on the author’s purpose. Inform, entertain or persuade.
• Slide 20: Cause and effect activity with moveable pieces.
