Description
This is a PowerPoint lesson to introduce or review the Dewey Decimal System with students. The lesson consists of 20 slides and includes information on the DDS and who created it and why. There is one slide that gives an overview of the system. Then there is one slide for each of the 10 categories plus one for biographies and one folk tales (398). There is a description of the types of books found in that category and photographs that go along with the topics. All of the images are real photographs.
The text of the PowerPoint is completely editable. You can change, add or delete any or all of it. The fonts that I used are embedded into the PowerPoint so you can keep a uniform look even if you change the text. However, none of the images can be moved or changed due to copyright restrictions.
Included in this download is a set of Dewey Decimal posters (that match the slides). There is also an editable version of these posters as well.
The file is in a zip format, you must have an unzip program to open it. If you need help with this please let me know.
Please Note: this file is included in my Dewey Decimal System PowerPoint Bundle. You do not need to purchase this product if you have already bought the bundle.
This is a fun and engaging way to teach and review library skills.
