Two sets of task cards to help your students determine the author’s purpose: persuade, inform or entertain.
Each set has 24 cards. One set is simpler than the other. This makes it easy for you to differentiate for your students or to use them with different grade levels. Students read the task card and then determine whether the author’s purpose is to persuade, inform or entertain. These are perfect for ELA test prep or as a review activity.
You can use these task cards in many ways:
Hang them around the room and have students walk around and read them/answer the questions
Fast finishers or individual practice
Whole group (display the cards on a document camera)
There are 4 task cards to a page. You can print in color or in black and white. You can also print them on card stock. I recommend laminating them for durability.
